Possibly the better choice
Posted by rudyhernandezSo those that follow such things already know there’s going to be an Avengers movie from Marvel Studios. The questions are which ones are they going to use, and who is going to play them.
We have our Iron Man already with Robert Downey Jr. And we also know that they are going to use Captain America and Thor. But still no actors for these rolls as of yet. But as these movies are already planned, we’re gonna get an answer to those rolls pretty soon.
So that brings us to the point of who the rest of the Avengers are going to be. Are they going to use Ant-Man, Vision, or the Hulk? Well there’s an Ant-Man movie planned with Edgar Wright directing so they could use him if the so desired. And I’m sure the Hulk is going to make an appearance somehow in the Avengers movie. I’m hoping it’s as a villain personally.
But here is some interesting news on possible casting. For those of you who read Newsarama, and if you’re not, you should, there is this story involving Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives fame.
Eva Longoria and a Stack of Comics
She is shown holding an Avengers comic, along with others in the stack she has under her arm. So these leaves us wondering if she’s going to be in the Avengers movie, and if she is, will she be playing the most likely role of the Wasp, Janet Pym? Personally I think this would be great. Not only is she hot, but she looks great in a bob haircut.
Fanboy drooling aside, she plays a pretty strong character in Gabrielle, and yes I do watch Desperate Housewives. I watch lots of TV and not all of it good.
But anyway my point is this is a much better role for her than when she was supposedly up for the Wonder Woman movie that never happened. She’s way too small to be Wonder Woman, but there’s really no height issue with Janet Pym. In fact it’s probably better that she’s small if they decide to go with the Hank Pym is an intimidating wife beater.
But honestly, it could be nearly anyone playing Janet Pym depending on how an important role they give her. And who’s to say this is what Eva Longoria is up for. But if it was up to me, I’d be more than ok with her in the Wasp role. So here’s hoping Marvel has already made the right choice.
