Boys Will be Boys

Posted by rudyhernandez

So many of you already know how great Garth Ennis’ The Boys is. And for those that don’t, it revolves around the exploits of an organization that keeps Superheroes in line when they’ve done bad things. And in Garth Ennis’ world, the Supes do lots of bad things. All your favorite archetypes are here such as teams that look like the JLA, the X-Men, the Teen Titans, etc. Every month Ennis along with excellent artist cohort Darick Robertson, bring you funny, raunchy, well-written action involving familiar looking heroes doing very un-familiar things. It’s one of the top five books I look forward to every month and I’m never disappointed.

You also get to see things from a central everyman character named Hughie who looks a lot like Simon Pegg, and acts pretty much like a lot of us would if we were put in the situations he gets put through. Take my word for it. Pick up the first issue and if you don’t get hooked right away, then feel free to move on. But if you get pulled in by the first page shown here like I did, then you’ll be in for a very fun ride.
